Tour de Family Fun Ride

Bring the whole family on bike for the 4th Annual 'Tour de Family' Bike Ride! We will meet on Laurel in front of the Bank of America and then take a ride through scenic San Carlos. Make sure your bicycle is in good working order and have a helmet! E-bikes welcome! Participants will receive a flashing bike light thanks to our sponsors.

Don Eaton Family Activity Day
All over town!
Since its inception in 1999, the Week of the Family Committee has designated the Monday of the week as a time reserved for families to stay at home and do something specifically with their family. It is hoped that reserving a set time each week for family time will become habit-forming.
Family Activity Day was started by Week of the Family founder, and former Mayor, Don Eaton in 1999. The event is for everyone. You are encouraged to “adopt” friends and neighbors who would enjoy an evening of family activities.
Ideas for things to do as a family:- Play board or card games
- Get out the family photo album
- Make up a play or story
- Make dinner—everyone contributes a dish
- Make a family calendar
- Read a book aloud (book lists are available at the library)
- Write letters to grandparents or other family members
- Draw or paint a picture
- Learn how to use a compass
- Pull out your old records, tapes, CDs, then listen to and discuss music
- Tell stories from your family history
- Go to the library
- Bake bread
- Start a family journal
- Sing

Robotics Demonstration

Please join the Sequoia High School FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics Team, FTC 4475 - Purple Reign, to see how they have built a competition robot. You will get to drive the robot and ask all of your questions.

Proper Protection, Long-Term Care & Medicare Basics
San Carlos Library, 610 Elm St.
This workshop provides an overview of key topics related to insurance and healthcare planning. Participants will learn about different types of life risks and the life insurance options available to address them. The session will also cover the cost of long-term care and explore available care and coverage options. In addition, attendees will receive a clear overview of Medicare, including when to apply and how to understand supplemental coverage choices. This workshop is presented in collaboration with the Financial Education Outreach Project.

Teen and Youth Service Projects

Calling all Middle School kids! Come down with your friends and family and spend an afternoon with the residents of The Elms. Join the San Carlos Leos Club and other middle school students.
Many fun activities include making Valentines cards for The Veterans Hospital, reading or playing games with the residents, and making lunches for the homeless.We will be crafting and doing projects from 2:00 - 4:00, it's a short day so come have fun and do good for your community.

Community Sing

Register (35 people max)Join local singer and choral director Emily Bender (emilybender.com) for an evening of easy and fun harmony singing inspired by “Pub Choir” and our own “No Stress Choir”! You don’t need to bring anything but yourself and your voice. We will learn a song (or 2) to sing together in harmony, then we will wow ourselves with how much joy we can find in singing together.
